Charmi has actually replaced Mamta Mohandas who has reported “sick” and withdrawn from the film. For the last one week Kamal and Dileep were on a heroine hunt and finally chose Charmy, as the character she plays requires glamour.

Dileep has played hero to a lot of new girls like Manju Warriar (Sallapam, who later became his wife), Meera Jasmine (Suthradharan), Navya Nair (Ishtam), Kavya Madhavan (Chandranuddikunna Dikku)etc. He has given new girls a hit which established them in the industry.This movie featuring Dileep as the hero, was originally planned with Mamtha Mohandas, but since the actress has to leave the movie due to sickness, Kamal and his crew was in a position to lookout for a newer face. And came in Charmi, whose recent films like Manthra, Chinnaodu and Laadam were safe bets at the Box Office.

The actress who has maintained herself busier with other language projects with leading stars of Telugu and Tamil like Nagarjuna, Venkitesh, Revi Teja, Siddharth and Sumanth, will now make a comeback to Malayalam in the new flick directed by Kamal
